Biography:
Half-Step Down's rapid rise towards the top of the North
Phoenix music scene was due to our careful choice of song material;
combined with the talent, musical precision, showmanship, and decades
of experience between its members. Half Step Down is the perfect choice
for your next event.
Half Step Down was born in December 2006 when Brad, a veteran from
the L.A. rock scene, and Curt joined together to form what is now
one of the premier classic rock cover bands in the Phoenix area. Rory
joined the band two months later followed by Drew in April of 2007.
About a year later; Marc, a versatile semi-pro musician, was contracted
to play bass for the band.
Each of the five musicians in the band contributes talents and skills
essential toward the continued success of Half Step Down. |

Brad
J. Mincher

Brad,
age 53, has been playing drums and percussions for 36 years. He studied
drums and percussion technique at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa,
CA at age 20. Throughout the years Brad has accumulated almost 30
years of live performance and recording experience throughout Hollywood
and Southern California. Brad later moved to Phoenix in 1995, destined
to form Half-Step Down in January 2007. Brad keeps the beat for the
band, both musically and figuratively. He handles the accounting and
organization of the band, but also sets its benchmarks and future
goals. |

Curt King
(Lead Guitar/backing

Curt,
age 38, hails from Prescott , AZ (native). He's played guitar for
over 23 years and has a wealth of live performance experience, as
well as some studio/recording experience. Curt contribution to the
band is his hot guitar leads and a healthy dose raw rock n' roll enthusiasm.

Rory McCrave

Rory,
age 34, started playing music by ear at the age of 6 on the organ
and piano. This early experience with music later helped accelerate
Rory's learning curve and his accuracy in deciphering musical arrangements.
He began playing guitar and 5-string banjo just after high school.
Since then he has gain valuable experience performing live with many
rock and bluegrass groups. Rory fills in the gaps for the band with
his solid guitar rhythm and vocals. He's also the designated sound
tech, light man, booking contact, and webmaster for the band. |

Drew Green
(Lead Singer)

Drew,
age 29, grew up in Phoenix and has been singing his entire life. He
sang with the Phoenix boys' choir as a youth and has a wealth of stage
experience performing with various bands as well as solo, as a king
of karaoke. Drew, of course, completes the package by delivering his
naturally rare high tenor vocals to the stage. |

Marc Said
(Bass Guitar)

Marc,
age 42, is an accomplished guitar and bass guitar player and instructor
with an extensive performance resume. He is accomplished in many different
styles of music including: jazz, funk, blues, rock, and R&B. Marc
contributes a wealth of knowledge in music theory and application
to the band and keeps the groove with his driven bass riffs. |
